  • A tree’s 1st line of defense and a must-have for any home, field, or emergency safety kit. Wildcrafted white spruce resin (pitch) is secreted by trees that have suffered trunk or branch damage.  Unlike sap which is the thinner liquid that flows within the tree, resin is highly concentrated and provides a liquid bandage that solidifies on the tree's surface to prevent bacterial or fungal infection and act as a deterrent to harmful insects. This resin is one of the most powerful natural antiseptics in the boreal forest, and as a result has been used for centuries by cultures around the world. It is carefully harvested without removing all of the protective layer on the tree, purified to remove debris and woody material, and combined in high concentration with organic grapeseed oil, beeswax + vitamin E to create this all-natural skin ointment that has the warm and spicy aroma of fresh spruce. In addition to its antiseptic properties, spruce resin is highly aromatic and the strong oleoresins (naturally present essential oils) may be beneficial for those suffering from congestion due to cough or cold. Applying a small amount just under your nose can help clear your airways while calming your mind. This botanical material is not overly abundant and can be difficult to find, making for a time-consuming endeavor. However, unlike store-purchased ointments, this precious 1 oz tin will last years as very little is required, and it has no expiry date - making the process entirely worth it!

*ALLERGY ALERT spruce resin is very potent, and this ointment is concentrated. Apply small amounts, and if intended use is a larger area perform a small test spot first to ensure no allergic or sensitivity reaction*

a must in my travel bag

I don't like chemical antibiotic ointments that are made with petroleum jelly, and this works better anyway! Great for cuts and insect bites, heals my skin fast. I have used it as a drawing ointment for wood slivers, really brings them to the surface to pull them out easier. Small tin but it's lasting me forever, and that smell is to die for!

    stays put and long lasting

A tiny dab of this heals up any small cuts or abrasions my family gets. Even healed up a cut on my dogs paw. Doesn’t wash off easy so stays where you put it, and smells amazing! Prefer this over the medicated ointments and that it’s natural. In summer it helps on bug bites too. Love this.
